I grew up when he was young and virile and he was a bit ahead of his time in fitness and he was not overrated for every year he would do some remarkable feat of strength as towing a row boat full of people across Frisco by swimming all of the way. When I was about 15 I got to met him and his wife for my mom was a professional baker who made carrot cakes, banana bread and a cherry cheese pie that was famous because she used no sugar or processed ingredients in any of her goods but they were just as sweet and tasty has the high calorie types but lighter. Mom's store was up on Melrose across the street from Paramount studio and Jack and his wife would stop by but sometimes his driver Big John who was a huge Black gentleman with bright smile and a kind attitude that everyone he met became a friend. One day Big John came buy for an usually large order for the Lalannes were moving up to the bay area and while waiting for the order Big John and my dad who both loved root beer where having a jolly conversation and Big John told my dad how he got to work for Jack. Jack was doing a tour down south promoting his Jack Lalanne fitness club when driving down a rural road in Mississippi they were halted at across road by a box car that had the back end jump the rail and while everyone was there waiting for the train yard to send a crane that could lift the box car back on the track which was hours away and the conductor who Big John said was a mean man saw Big John coming down the road after a night of successful cat fishing. Big John said he was about 19 at the time and still growing and when the mean old conductor who Big John knew but never liked saw him, the conductor called to Big John to come over and when he did as the old mean man asked, he immediately told Big John to pick up the end of that box car and put it back on the tracks, when Big John told the mean old conductor that he couldn't do that the old man reached inside that box car and produced a double barrel 12 gage shot gun and pointed it at Big John and said that he was going to blow Big John's head off if he didn't do what he was told. Big John shook his head and said that is why Mr. Lalanne did not build his fitness clubs down south and never went back. I and Dad were intrigued and asked what happened with the mean conductor and the box car, as Big John got up to take the goods to the car he turned around and just said, "I ain't dead am I?" It was after seeing this feat of strength that Jack offered Big John a job in California and a chance to get away from such a place.

P'quaint!,The hand is innervated by 3 nerves: the median, ulnar, and radial. The median nerve is responsible for innervating the muscles involved in the fine precision and pinch function of the hand. It originates from the lateral and medial cords of the brachial plexus (C5-T1). The ulnar nerve is responsible for innervating the muscles involved in the power grasping function of the hand. It originates at the medial cord of the brachial plexus (C8-T1). The radial nerve is responsible for innervating the wrist extensors, which control the position of the hand and stabilize the fixed unit. It originates from the posterior cord of the brachial plexus (C6-8). The radial and ulnar arteries, which are branches of the brachial artery, provide the blood supply to the hand. Supplemental arteries in the forearm include the anterior interosseous artery, the posterior interosseus artery, and (occasionally) the median artery, all of which are branches of the ulnar artery. Any injury to the nerves or blood supply may cause numbness to the hand. This would include trauma to the cervical vertebrae 5,6, and 8 and the 1st thoracic vertibra. The causes of numbness of the left hand related to cardiac events are usually accompanied by pain which is often felt in the entire arm and shoulder as well, and could be the result of a myocardial infarction (heart attack). Shortness of breath, pain into the throat, deep pain or pressure sensation underneath the breastbone. However, this is not always the case, and your father-in-law is likely being kept in for observation to ensure that the cause has not been masked by any other cause. Whilst your concern of infection in places like hospitals etc, are not without foundation, you should make the decision for his pemature discharge with the co-operation of all concerned, including your father-in-law. An early discharge might find these symptoms recurring at a later date, maybe with more serious results. At this time, the doctors must have a concern that there may be something that has not presented and are likely doing examinations and/or tests to try to discover or exclude the possible cause.ALL ANSWERS SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY RESEARCHED, IN ANY FORUM AND ESPECIALLY IN THIS ONE. – MANY ANSWERS ARE FLAWED. It is extremely important to obtain an accurate diagnosis before trying to find a cure. Many diseases and conditions share common symptoms. The information provided here should not be used during any medical emergency or for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition.

I'm glad you're not having thoughts suicide, which suicide is one of the highest risks among depression in teenagers. I highly suggest you going to a doctor to see what they say, that's how i started out my depression. I was down and i had no idea what to do. Believe it or not doctors might sound really cheesy at times but they do know what's best for you. loss of interest is a very big part of depression and one of the main reasons they give out medication for depression. If people are giving you a hard time at school for something they think you did, but you know you didn't don't listen to them. That's the best thing you can do with teen aged school drama. If you haven't already talked to a parent or a trusted adult about this recommendd that is the first step to over coming your depression. I hope all goes well! Source(s): I have been struggling with depression myself for over 3 years. 3 days ago Thanks i went yesterday and i am clinically depressed.

The bench press, while a good/decent upper-body compound pressing exercise, is far from being the ultimate gauge of overall strength.More important overall strength exercises are: deadlifts, squats, pull-ups, overhead lifts (OH presses, push presses etc.).How impressive a bench press load is can depend greatly on the width of the grip, whether you're pressing through the full range of motion, how much back extension (if any) there is, whether the bar is being paused on the chest (and where) before pressing back up, and on whether a benching suit that massively enhances the load is being worn.If you're not going out of your way to make it easy, then pressing your own body weight is decent, 1.5 times your own weight is very good, and 2 times your own weight is heading towards elite. 3 days ago Thanks.

I've been an EMT for 6 years and you encounter alot of patients with crap on them (literally) and the hep b series will protect you since Hep b is transmitted from the fecal oral rout. you get exposed as well to Alot of people with coughs that are from the streets. If you end up being exposed to TB they can have a baseline or an approximate day of when you got exposed. Once the PPD (TB skin test) is positive, it will always be positive and you will need chest Xrays to make sure you dont have it. Once you test positive NEVER get the the skin test again because it might cause permanent scaring on your arm.

Hi RachelSounds to me that your calcium levels are too high, and these should have been checked following the introduction of supplements.I don't know your age but high calcium levels can be associated with a syndrome called hyperparathyroidism and therefore it is important that you get some blood tests in order to establish this.If your doctor isn't available then there should be someone covering him/her and sometimes getting a second opinion isn't bad. So go and get a blood test to establish your calcium levels as soon as you can.
